Then there's data that is aquired from data leaks where again many people have different names then they have in real life. This means that if I had in my contacts somebody called John Smith and I would saved his phonenumber as "Fat Joe" it would popup as "Fat Joe" in a reverse phone lookup. For example: a service called syncme has/had an app which you could download and after "synchronizing" (read) uploading your contacts in your phone, you could do lookups by phonenumbers.
